Peart will not be the lone participant with ties to St. Cloud State who will play within the match.
Ahead Martins Lavins will play for Latvia and ahead Verner Miettinen will play for Finland within the match. Lavins and Miettinen have each signed Nationwide Letters of Intent to play for the Huskies.
Lavins, a 19-year-old from Riga, Latvia, is taking part in in his second season of juniors for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the US Hockey League. Lavins has 4 objectives, 11 factors, 25 penalty minutes and is even in plus/minus in 18 video games this season. He’s averaging 16 minutes, 42 seconds per recreation, is successful 52% of his puck battles and 56% of his faceoffs for the RoughRiders. This would be the second World Junior Championships for Lavins, who’s listed at 6-foot and 185 kilos.
Miettinen, a 19-year-old from Espoo, Finland, is taking part in his first season of juniors for the Fargo Pressure within the USHL. Miettinen has seven objectives, 14 factors, 5 power-play objectives, 4 penalty minutes and is a plus-5 in 18 video games. Previous to this season, he performed three seasons for a junior workforce in Finland (Kiekko-Espoo).
