Fossil of pregnant ground sloth discovered with fetus inside

The remarkably uncommon discovery of a fossilised pregnant floor sloth and its fetus has been reported.

Cástor Cartelle on the Pontifical Catholic College of Minas Gerais in Brazil had been exploring an in depth Brazilian cave for two hours when he found the fossil sloth, from the species Nothrotherium maquinense.
