It’s with deep sorrow that Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has learnt of the unhappy demise of former Zimbabwe captain and coach Heath Streak after shedding his battle with colon and liver most cancers within the early hours of this Sunday.

He was 49.

Considered one of Zimbabwe’s biggest ever cricketers, Streak performed 65 Checks and 189 one-day internationals, captaining the nationwide staff between 2000 and 2004.

He scored 4 933 worldwide runs, together with a lone century in a Check match in opposition to the West Indies in Harare, and took 445 wickets.

Streak served as Zimbabwe’s head coach from 2016 to 2018, having beforehand labored because the staff’s bowling coach.
