Artificial intelligence: ‘Heed its warning’

Re: “AI wrote this editorial, and it argues that human journalists should keep their jobs” [Sept. 24, Opinion]:

The Bing Chat AI-produced editorial was clear, easy, well-reasoned and (let’s face it) boring. What was lacking from the editorial was any humorousness, irony or emotion. AI offered no impassioned pushbacks or pleas that it needs to be utilized in journalism.

The editorial makes zero makes an attempt to defend AI’s proper to exist — apart from to rattle off a listing of AI advantages after which mechanically clarify that these advantages will seemingly trigger hurt to human journalists and readers alike!

The place is AI’s upside in all of this?

Even its conclusions lack ardour, and subsequently, credibility. That is precisely why we must always heed its warning that changing human journalists with AI will threaten journalistic integrity and destroy livelihoods. Greater than that, AI’s development will silence folks’s distinctive voices. This could be far worse than boring. It might be tragic.
