Alaska Sues Biden Administration Over Arctic Lease

The Alaska Industrial Growth and Export Authority is asking a federal choose to reverse a choice by the Biden administration to cancel oil and drilling leases within the Alaska Nationwide Wildlife Refuge space.

The leases had been permitted by the Trump administration in January 2021 and canceled by the Biden administration final month.

The AIDEA stated in its lawsuit the cancellation of the seven leases is illegal for a number of causes. The leases are authorized and Congressionally mandated, the company stated. The lawsuit stated the Division of Inside didn’t permit AIDEA to appropriate any points to maintain the leases.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy helps the lawsuit.
