Polly Firestone Walker
Polly Firestone Walker of Ballard was not too long ago appointed to the Solvang Theaterfest Board of Administrators, having beforehand served on the board for 9 years, together with two as chair.
Walker acquired a B.A. in English and drama from Stanford College then studied on the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Artwork (LAMDA) in its three-year Actor Coaching Program.
After her marriage to David Walker and work at numerous theaters across the nation, she returned to the Santa Ynez Valley to lift her household.
As a resident artist with the Pacific Conservatory Theater PCPA, Walker has performed such roles as Woman Macbeth and Titania, Hannah Jarvis in “Arcadia,” Elizabeth Proctor in “The Crucible,” and Mrs. Bennet in “Pleasure and Prejudice.”
Walker based and ran the Solvang Theaterfest Youth Theater Summer season Shakespeare workshops for over a decade, along with instructing Shakespeare workshops at Dunn Center College. She has directed for the Valley Neighborhood Theater, Cate College, and Small However Mighty Productions.
She additionally served on the Direct Aid Ladies Government Committee, St. Mark’s-in-the-Valley Sacristy, and on the board of the Santa Barbara Basis. Walker is directing the West Coast premiere of Jane Austen’s “Emma,” (tailored for stage by Joe Hanreddy) for PCPA.
Solvang Theaterfest is the 501 (c) (3) nonprofit company that owns and operates Solvang Pageant Theater. It’s managed by an all-volunteer Board of Administrators.
